Overview

The Christchurch City Council project consisted of installing parking equipment in each of the city’s eight central car parks. Outdated and understaffed, the original systems in these sites were manned cashiers, serving well over a million visitors per year.

Solution

ASL is in the process of transitioning these sites to be fully automated, in which all eight sites are controlled through one central control point hosted on the Council’s IT infrastructure.

Result

ASL began work with Christchurch prior to the city’s major earthquake and had successfully completed upgrades for four of the eight parks. Unfortunately, the project is currently on hold until further direction from the Council due to the difficult structural and budget situation in Christchurch. ASL will continue to support Christchurch through these immensely hard times and once they are back on their feet we will resume progress on the remaining four sites, as well as complete needed repairs on previous installations.
